To launch their premium line of perfumed wax melts Invandre approached us to design their identity and packaging.
Originating from the coastal suburb of Bandra in Mumbai, the brand takes inspiration from the local history. As this suburb is a growing posh locality with a unique history, this was the starting point. ‘Invandre’ is a word created by combining two words - ‘in’ and ‘Vandre’, the precolonial name of Bandra.
Impprintz looked into the historical locations that defined Bandra and which could lend itself visually to the identity. The old Portuguese fort "Castelo da Aguada" stands at the southernmost tip of the peninsular strip of land that juts into the Arabian Sea. The tall entry to the fort stood out with its distinct shape. "The gateway" resonated well as a concept for the brand offering luxurious products for the sense of smell. The sense of smell is often considered a gateway to emotion and memory.
The logo is designed with an outer shape of the fort’s gateway combined with elegant lettering for the wordmark - having a contemporary heritage appeal. The turquoise blue brings the feel of the coast and the colour of the sea on a clear day. The feel is classic and modern.
The packaging uses invigorating images that capture moods to go with the various bespoke fragrances. The whole product provides an experience to be enjoyed by oneself or as a gift to someone special.
